

Dorothy Loreta Trim Willoughby, better known as “Pete” to her family and friends, died December 6 in Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M., Friday, December 10, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, TX 75020.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 Hwy. 91 North, Denison, TX 75020.
Pallbearers will be John Patrick, Garland Nevil, Corky Bowling, Jr., John Volpe, Brad Nevil and Ronny Grubb.
Pete was born June 20, 1921 to Frank and Bessie Carter Trim in Cherry Mound, Texas and graduated from Bells High School. Dorothy was one of five children, with Waldo, Shelton “Sonny”, Frances Trim Carpenter and Frank, Jr. preceding her in death. In 1943, she married Carrel Hundley Willoughby in Independence, Kansas, where Carrel was stationed with the Air Force during WWII. Pete was an avid fan during Carrel’s baseball career prior to, during and following the war. Pete and Carrel had a baby George Herman, who died at birth and later adopted a baby daughter Terri Lynne. Terri is married to John R. Patrick and is an executive for ExxonMobil in Houston. They have two daughters Katharine and Elizabeth, who are continuing the family tradition in playing Little League baseball and father John manages their teams.
In Denison, Pete worked for Kraft Food (where she met Carrel), Sear’s, managed the Montgomery Ward’s catalog store and Top Value Stamp store, and worked in the local hospital business office. Pete and Carrel were founding members of Parkside Baptist Church. In 1967, the family moved to Dallas, where Pete worked 20 years for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Carrel died in 1993 while they were attending a Texas Rangers baseball game. Pete was vivacious and energetic, living a full and active life. She loved to cook, entertain and buy/sell antiques. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
