James Calvin Mauldin

December 20, 1947July 9, 2018

James Calvin Mauldin was born on December 20, 1947, the son of Jimmy Mason Mauldin, a typesetter for the Denison and Sherman papers and Shirley Virginia Mauldin, a nurse. He was a lover of cars from the first and over his life he worked as a mechanic, a buyer and reseller of his beloved Mustangs and a model builder of plastic cars. He began his work life early as a paperboy for the Denison Herald from the age of twelve. As an adult, he was a salesman for Babcock Stores. However his true love was in writing. He wrote many history stories for the Denison Herald and automobile articles for such magazines as Street Rodder, Super Ford, Rod and Custom and Street Rod Pickups. Nationally, he was published over 100 times. He is survived by his wife of almost 32 years, Debra Mauldin; son Tim Mauldin and daughter-in-law Marina Mauldin. He was a gentleman and a gentle man, kind hearted, honorable, humorous, and loyal and will be greatly missed. But Calvin was a man of faith and he’s at rest, safe now, at home with the Lord in heaven.
