Keith Howard Gant

Keith was born January 14th, 1933 in Western North Carolina, Swannanoa. He was the son of the now deceased Rev. Major Detroit Gant and Louise Parham Gant.

While stationed at Perrin Air Force Base, Sherman, TX he met and married Dolores Ann Phelps on June 26, 1955.

Keith surrendered his life to the ministry in the late 1950’s. He served as pastor in several Grayson County Churches for twenty one years.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

God added greatly; a loving wife, Dolores Ann Phelps Gant, two loving sons, Barry Keith Gant and Gaylin Lee Gant, two outstanding daughter-in-laws, Mitzi Ann Gant and Cathy Diane Gant, two fantastic grandchildren, Ryan Jordan Gant and Emily Ann Gant.

Keith leaves behind his wife Dolores of Sherman, TX; son Barry & Cathy Gant, son Gaylin & Mitzi Gant all of Sherman, TX; sister Ellen Cheek of Greensboro, NC; brother Don & Betty Gant of Plantation, FL; sister-in-law, Peggy Gant of Swannanoa, NC; and several nieces and nephews; grandson Ryan Jordan Gant of Addison, TX; granddaughter, Emily Ann Gant of Sherman, TX.

A celebration of his life will be held at North Park Baptist Church in Sherman, TX at 11:00AM, Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013.

Keith had three wishes at the time of his death; 1. He wanted to be cremated. 2. Laughter at his funeral. 3. No plants or flowers, his wish was to send a donation to NPB Church Building Fund in memory of him or to Hospice Plus in Sherman, TX.
