Mike was one of my very best friends from when I took over his territory in Lubbock in 1971. We were able to talk about things that weren't possible with most others: 1. Music because we were both so into it though having different tastes. 2. Politics because we leaned the same way and were frustrated the same way. 3. The joys of our families and griefs. 4. Spirituality and religion which we seldom agreed on. Mike seemed to champion the little people and the disenfranchised in life which inspired me as well. He had a big wonderful heart! Mike's family was so much to him and my heart goes out to them in this tough hour. Life takes them from us too early.
