Rebecca Lynn Overturf Russell entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in Sherman, Tx at the age of 70. She was born April 4, 1944 in Denison, Tx the eldest child of Bobby and Catherine.
Becky was the daughter of a U.S. Air Force officer and moved frequently in her early life. She received her Bachelor's of Science from South Dakota State University, and in 1970 moved back to Texas to be near her family after having twin son's. Becky worked as a medical technologist with Texoma Medical Center for 23 years before retiring in 2000. After retiring, Becky was able to devote her time and energy to her 8 grandchildren, the joys of her life.
Becky had a generous and caring heart, loved Christ and her family, and enjoyed crafts, reading, music and movies. Despite the many obstacles in her life, she always looked to God for strength and guidance, and never let anything effect her love of others.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bobby.
She is survived by her mother Catherine of Denison, her twin son's Robert of McKinney and his wife Leslie, Charlie of Denison and his wife Kim, daughter, Cathy of Sherman and son, Brian of Denison. Brother's Dennis of Roanoke and his wife Lois, and John of Sherman and his wife Phyllis. She has 8 wonderful grandchildren, a beautiful great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. There are many other children who called her "mom" that love and miss her.
Pallbearer's will be Paul Fox, Brian Overturf, Travis Overturf, Bourben Rhymes, Calvin Russell, and Jerron Medlin. Honorary pallbearer's are Dennis Overturf and John Overturf.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 10 at noon in the Fairview cemetery chapel and are under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison.
