He was preceded in death by his father Gordon Anderson Campbell and mother Jesse Mae Knox Campbell; two brothers, William Franklin and James Gordon; one sister, Lillian Alice Nesmith; and his middle son Robert Dwayne Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Opal Campbell; one daughter, Terri Reeves; and one son, Joe Campbell.
He was surrounded by his grandsons Ben Reeves and Robert D. Campbell Jr. and daughter Terri Reeves as he passed quietly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 3, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 2120 Renaissance Drive, Denison, Texas.
