

MCKINNEY-Tammy, age 54, died Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 in McKinney. Texas. She will lie in state for viewing 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Bratcher Funeral Home Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the 9th at Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the service.
Dr. Chet Haney, Senior Pastor of Highland Terrace Baptist Church, Greenville, Texas will officiate. Tammy was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Denison. Tammy was a strong Christian who relied deeply on her Faith.
Tammy was born on November 28th, 1960 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was the youngest sibling of James (Jim) Hildon Brooks and Maxine Brooks.
In 1984, Tammy married Robert Bryan Whittington. They together had one beautiful daughter, Bailee Brooks Whittington, who was born in 2000.
Tammy attended schools in Louisiana and in Texas. She graduated from Denison High School. She also completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from The University of North Texas.
Tammy excelled in voice, drama and acting. She could mesmerize an audience. She was also an avid reader and writer.
Ms. Whittington is survived by her beloved daughter, Bailee Brooks Whittington. A Sister, Nancy Brooks Pike and her husband, Mike Pike; a Brother, James Russell (Rusty) Brooks and a Sister-in-Law, Mary Louise Moak. Nieces are Ashley Ann Brooks, Erin Brooke Blair, Stephanie Moak Saenz and Lacey Alley Pike. Nephews include Nathan (Nate) Alan Pike, Charles Moak, Jr. and Brian Lee Blair.
Tammy was also a great aunt to eight great nieces and nephews. Two of which were born in 2015. She was particularly proud of the last two as they were born from Nate and Lacey Pike and Erin and Brian Blair.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, James (Jim) Hildon Brooks and Maxine Arnold Brooks, and her brother, Charles Bruce Moak.
Although, we grieve deeply, we celebrate in the fact that Eternal Life exists through Christ, Our LORD and SAVIOR, and that we know that Tammy is in Heaven celebrating with all of her family and friends.
