William Jason Wakefield

Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Taft, Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. Jason will be laid to rest next to his brother and other loved ones.

Jason was born on November 30, 1973 to Laura (Bengel) Wakefield and the late William Lee Wakefield, Jr. in Muskogee, OK. He graduated from Muskogee High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. From there he went on to receive his master’s degree from Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephew and had a passion for history and books.

Jason is survived by his mother Laura Wakefield; sister Anne Wakefield-McBride; brother-in-law Bryan McBride; nephew Joshua McBride; nieces Laurynn and Abigail McBride; paternal grandma Charlsye Wakefield and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jason is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Patsy Bengel; father William Lee Wakefield, Jr.; paternal grandfather William Lee Wakefield, Sr.; maternal grandfather John W. Bengel; paternal aunt Sherry Wakefield and his younger brother that he loved and missed dearly, Shawn Wayne Wakefield.

After the service, friends and family are invited to a memorial at 4:00 P.M. at the Shriner’s Temple on Okmulgee Street in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
