She is survived by her son, Mandrick Holifield, and daughter-in law, Theresa Holifield; her grandchildren, Amanda (Angelo), Deanna, Billy, and Mandrick Jr.(Rebecca); her great-grandchildren, Savannah, Gianna, Maliyah, Ruby Grace, and Logan; her siblings, Gilbert Sisneros (Rita), Joe Sisneros (Karen), and Marie Magallon.
Anna Pauline (“Grammie”), was born in Crowely, Colorado, on June 22, 1941 to Salvador and Mary Sisneros. She grew up in Englewood, and attended Englewood High School and Englewood Beauty College.
On April 4, 1958, she married the love of her life, Billy Ray Holifield, and on January 7, 1959, she gave birth to her one and only child, Mandrick Lee Holifield. Grammie worked for Wilkerson Corporation, where she received numerous awards, and made some lifelong friendships.
Unfortunately, four years after her 25th wedding anniversary, she lost her husband to emphysema. Her life was never the same. Soon after, she was afflicted with many health issues. But her family, friends and caregivers admired her strength through it all. Despite her struggles, her optimism and will to live were always strong—a true reflection of how she embraced life. Grammie was a wonderful person who loved everyone she met; she welcomed all with loving arms.
If you knew Grammie, you would know that she was very strong willed, and stubborn at times, but that's who she was, and that's who we loved! She was loved by many, and quickly became the neighborhood grandma!
She lived a life she loved, and made great memories with everyone she met. She will be missed, but never forgotten!
Reception to follow burial. Please join us at Grammie's house on Iliff at 3 p.m. Food and drinks will be served. For more information, please call Amanda at (720)448-6385.
God's Garden
God looked around his garden
And he found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and
Lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone, for part
Of us went with you, the day God
Called you home.
