We grieve because we love. We celebrate and honor Ardie.

Ardeth “Ardie” Gaye Dalgleish was passionate about two things, those she loved and dancing with her love. Ardie was an elementary education teacher who met her life-long dancing partner, George “Bud” Dalgleish, at 16, when she moved from Enders, Nebraska to Sterling, Colorado. After she and Bud graduated college, they started a family in Colorado Springs. Dancing through life together for more than 64 years of married life, Bud died in September of 2016. Eight months later, Ardie also lost her son Mark, to a rare cancer. With a heavy heart, she spent four years in her home before joining the Someren Glen community in February 2020, just as COVID-19 was beginning. Despite macular degeneration and hearing challenges, Ardie was vibrant and full of life, embracing everything she could.

At the center of who Ardie was: her faith, her love of family, her Nebraska roots, her love of dancing with Bud, and a “Mighty” personality inherited from a long line of strong pioneering women — expressed through bright colors, big earrings, and fun shoes. She passed in the early hours of Thursday, the 21st of May 2026, after a four-year battle with declining health following a pacemaker and dementia. She left this world with that same strong spirit, her faith intact, her appreciation for life whole, and her love of family and friends undiminished.

Ardie is survived by her daughter Heather (Mark), daughter-in-law Kate, granddaughter Jennifer (Christopher), grandsons Ryan and Jacob and great granddaughter Scarlett.

A celebration of life was held at Someren Glen where Ardie spent the last 6 years of her life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
