Arlene Kay Hinton

July 22, 1952 – July 9, 2025
Obituary of Arlene Kay Hinton
IN THE CARE OF

Olinger Hampden Mortuary, Cremation & Cemetery

Arlene Kay Hinton was born in Littleton, CO on July 22nd, 1952 to Jack and Helen Guess. She passed in her sleep on July 9th, 2025 after a 4 year battle with breast cancer.

Arlene, her parents, and younger sister Nancy all lived in Littleton until they moved to Grand Junction, CO for Jack's job with Western Electric. Arlene went on to study at Mesa College (now Colorado Mesa University) and transferred after two years to Colorado State University where she got a degree in psychology. She then got her teaching degree from the University of Colorado Denver. Arlene taught third and fourth grade at Sagebrush Elementary.

Before completing her teaching program, Arlene worked as a temp for the Colorado State Patrol where she met her husband Ronald. They married in 1982 in Denver. In 1984 Arlene and Ron welcomed their first daughter, Laura. Arlene then decided to be a stay-at-home mom. In 1990, they welcomed their youngest daughter, Kelsey.

A forever sun seeker, Arlene convinced Ron to split their time between Aurora and Palm Desert playing golf, drinking wine, and spending time with friends in their retirement- staying away from the cold, snowy weather except for holidays to see their daughters.

Arlene was predeceased by her mother, Helen and father, Jack. She is survived by her husband, Ron; sister Nancy; daughters Laura (Dan) and Kelsey; grand cats Sheepy and Quark; grand dog Bailey and lots of friends and extended family.

Arlene was a kind and caring woman who loved her friends and family deeply. She will be greatly missed.

No service is planned at Arlene's request. Please drink a glass of red wine with some dark chocolate in her honor!
