Betty's name means "God is satisfaction" and "graceful Lily," which was a perfect example of her life.
During WWII Betty worked for Belle Aircraft in Niagara Falls, NY as a keypunch operator on one of the first computers. After the war she married her beloved husband Robert “Bud” Kohl in Danville, KY and they began raising a family. They moved from Pennsylvania to Nevada, then to Utah, and finally settled in the Denver area in 1956. Betty worked for the Air Force Finance & Accounting Center as an accountant for over 25 years. She was an active member of Eastern Star and also served as President of her chapter of the Int’l Order of Toastmistress for numerous years. With her husband they founded and owned Engineered Sales and Service, Inc. in Denver. In retirement, Betty was a faithful, active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 30 years.
Betty was devoted to her husband and children and in her spare time was always either taking night classes to further her education, reading, or crocheting. Together with husband Robert, they enjoyed their numerous travels around the world, including trips to Japan, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Scotland, as well as the many cross-country trips throughout the USA.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends for the sterling example she set for us, her sense of humor, her dedication and love of her family and friends, her faith, her strength of character and the positive, industrious attitude she approached all of life with.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kohl; daughter, Mimi Cline; and sister, Gloria Grose. Her memory is treasured by her children, Judy and Bob; grandchildren, Ryan, Randy, Robert, Christina, and Adam; and nephews, Madison, Michael and Tim as well as her five great grandchildren.
A visitation time to greet family members and other friends will be held on Friday, December 8th from 12-2PM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary. Betty will be laid to rest at Olinger Hampden Cemetery on Friday, December 8th at 2 PM.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, Denver, CO.
