Bobbie Wheeler

Roberta Mae Richardson Wheeler, also known as Bobbie, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21st, 2018. She was born on February 10th, 1927 in Denver, Colorado to Edgar and Winifred Richardson. She grew up with her sisters Jeanette and Ruth. Bobbie graduated from South High School in Denver. She attended two area churches, Evanston UMC and Emmanuel UMC. It was there that she met and fell in love with her choir mate, Grant Wheeler. They married on October 19th, 1951.

Bobbie loved many things, but her favorite hobbies included making the clothing for her children's first day of school, sewing, gardening, especially her roses, doing interior design and decorating, and making excellent meals for her family. Her daughters especially favored her pot-roast, lasagna and goulash. Being a stay at home mother she was able to help put parties together for her daughter's classmates, being a member of P.E.O. and Beta Sigma Phi, as well as working when she wanted to.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, and sister Jeanette. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Grant; daughters, Lynn (Michael) and Lori; grandchildren, Heather, Jon, Fred and Sammie; great-grandchildren, Gillian and Lincoln; and sister, Ruth; as well as a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 at 10am at Grace United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11am. Bobbie will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Bobbie's memory may be made to Grace UMC P.E.O. Chapter or the Ronald McDonald House.
