Mr Hully was my Electronics instructor 1973-1975.  (Hinkley H.S.) I really liked him. He taught me enough I've made my career based on his teachings ever since. :-)  The best days of my HS years were in his lab/classroom. He recommended me for my first job fixing Teleautograph systems.  ~larry

I'm saddened to hear of Bruce's passing. He taught me how to fly 20 years ago. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor.  he will be missed by Many.

I heard a lot about your father from Bruce when he was alive. Bruce was essentially my father figure throughout my teens and my 20s. He taught me how to fly when I first came to America in 1989. He got me almost all of my flight certificates, including commercial and instructor. He spoke of Gene a lot. He was also like a God-father to my kids. He loved us a lot and we loved him a lot too. Please tell your father that Bruce spoke very highly of him on numerous occasions.

I'm saddened to find Bruce has passed. We meet in 1968 when I was born. He was a good friend of my father's, Ret. Maj. Gene Gooch. He was always cheerful and had an unmistakable laugh. He saw me when things were tough and then when my life improved. We always visited and went to dinner when I came to town. I've been trying to get in touch this last week for another visit. If there's anything I can do please contact me. If you find a small wooden box of ashes, those are my dad.

I am saddened today as I called Bruce's numbers to find both disconnected and then this.  I have used Bruce as my flight instructor for biannual flight reviews for many years.  He was a good teacher with a non threatening approach to learning and will be missed by many.  RIP Bruce.

Bruce was my teacher, and my friend. His kind teaching style and his love of knowledge fueled my passion for learning as a young child. Bruce will always be in my memory a great example, and a dear friend.

Dear Bruce, I will really miss you my friend. You were my father figure, my flight instructor, my good friend, and a great supporter for my family when we needed help. You let me trade work for you in exchange for flying lessons when I was 16. I remember the day you got out of the plane unbeknownst to me prior to my first solo. I also remember that one time when the city lost electricity and we couldn't see the airport, yet you were able to take the yoke and confidently find the runway in the dark. I'm very sorry for your loss. I met Bruce in 1973, when he gave me my first taildragger checkout. I recall him chuckling heartily as the airplane darted back and forth across the runway. Our paths have crossed often in the small world of aviation, most recently working together in the Colorado Pilots Association. I will miss his passion and upbeat personality. General aviation has lost a staunch advocate and an effective ambassador. Rest in peace, Bruce.

LtCol Bruce Hulley got me started in aviation back in the 80's as my first flight instructor.  His "by the book" style of teaching was intimidating but turned me into a safe and competent pilot. I'm grateful for his service in CAP and proud to have known him.

Bruce was a wonderful person. Very caring, pleasant, and dedicated. He made a difference in his work with the schools and with Colorado PERA. I am very sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of flying with Bruce during a New Mexico mountain flying clinic. He really put me through the paces, and I loved every minute. He will surely be missed.
