

Catherine (Kaki) Stone Kolb, CPA, age 65, of Denver, Colorado died at Emeritus at Denver on January 26, 2013, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Graham Kolb; her mother, Ann Hayward Morgan; her brothers, James Floyd (Jeff) Stone, Farren Parker Stone and Robert Hayward Stone; and her sister Peggy Stone Coats. She is also survived by her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Kaki was born in Monroe, Louisiana on June 16, 1947 to James Floyd and Ann Stone (Morgan), as well as grandparents, The Reverend Edward F. and Henrietta Hayward; and Floyd Sr. and Ana Mae Parker Stone. She attended Neville High School and graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College (now ULM) with a B.A. in Education. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. Kaki started her career as an elementary school teacher and then worked as a Girl Scout Field Executive for the Silver Waters Council in Monroe, Louisiana and the Mile High Council in Denver, Colorado. In 1979, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a degree in accounting prior to obtaining her CPA certificate. She worked for the Ashby, Armstrong and Johnson CPA firm prior to opening her own accounting business. She was also an instructor at the American National College in Denver. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on February 21 at 10 AM. The family requests that donations be made in Catherine's name to The Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter.
