

Charlene Jeanette Blackburn was born May 4, 1920 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was the second daughter of Charles and Nancy Taylor Blackburn (a descendant of President Zachary Taylor).
Charlene was raised on a ranch in Camargo, Oklahoma, and later during her early high school years moved with her family to Woodward, Oklahoma. She graduated from Woodward High School on May 19th, 1938.
Charlene attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated on June 1, 1942 with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree.
After college she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and obtained a job with Gulf Oil Corporation where she met and married Frank Dale McClure on February 22, 1946. Charlene and Dale had two children, Nancy and Randy.
Charlene was very active in the family church, Beta Sigma Phi, and numerous non-profit organizations.
After her children began school full time, she chose to resume her career and begin working at Rife Petroleum Company.
She later married Noble Hunter and moved back to Woodward, Oklahoma.
In 1995, she moved to Aurora, Colorado to be near her daughter’s family. She lived in the Denver area until her death on September 29, 2010.
Charlene was an accomplished pianist, loved music (especially big band, and spiritual), dancing, sewing, and managed to stay active in volunteer work along with working and raising her family.
Charlene loved to entertain and hosted many family and non-profit events.
She is survived by her two children, Nancy and Randy, four grandchildren, Trey and Trent O’Shields, and Lindsey McClure and Wendy McClure/Johnson.
She has five great-grandchildren, Connor, Olivia, Tegan, Alexandra and Blake.
