David Alfred Manders

Dave grew up in Dubuque Iowa. He graduated from Wahlert High School in Dubuque Iowa in 1969. After high school he joined the Marine Corps where he served honorably for 4 years. He then joined the Army National Guard where he served as a Green Beret for 6 years. He was self-employed as a computer technician most of his adult life teaching he sons, son in law and grandsons parts of the trade.

Dave married Cheryl Manders in 1987 in Dubuque Iowa. They were happily married for 28 years. Dave was a member of American Legion and TREA. He enjoyed movie night with his grandkids, poker nights with his buddies and family time. He also enjoyed playing the Jolly Old Elf ST. Nick with his wife as Mrs. Clause for the American Legion and the 993rd Med Det. (VS) USAR.

Dave is survived by his children Mya Hashenberger, Tammy Manders, Michaelyn Sotile-Ray, Wendy Manders, Jacob Manders, Susan Manders and Greg Sotile, sibling Marcie Manders Schwendinger, grandchildren Jonathen Sotile, Samantha Manders, Mariah Gaul, James Walley, Andrew Ray, Masen Hashenberger, Davianna Walley, Timothy Ray, Julianne Manders, Marisa Hashenberger, Natalie Sotile, David Manders, Christian Sotile, Judah Sotile, great grandchildren Tristan Sotile, Spencer Sotile and Ryder Sotile; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl and mother and father Julius and Frances Manders.
