

David Lavan Tayman passed away on June 4, 2015 in Denver, CO. He was born in Jacksonville, IL on October 24, 1939. In 1956, David enlisted in the IL Air National Guard, serving as a weapons loader until 1958. In 1959, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a radiology specialist and medical technician in various U.S. states as well as Turkey, Africa, and Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge in 1963, he embarked on a thriving career in surgical supply sales, starting in the San Francisco area, later moving to Denver in 1972. In Denver, he held various sales and senior managerial positions at Colorado Surgical Supply, Professional Medical Supply, Electromedics, and Hills Pet Products. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing, volunteering and working as a course ranger at Columbine Country Club.
Dave could often be found enjoying the outdoors camping, skiing, fishing, and golfing with friends and family. He was also strongly involved in Boy Scouts during the time when his sons were scouts, and was a Vigil honor member of the Order of the Arrow.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents Watson L. and Margaret L. Tayman and his sister Carol E. Thompson. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Elaine L. Tayman, his children Craig and John, their wives Kimberly and Jessica, and grandchildren Susan and Abigail.
Memorial service will be Monday, June 15, 10:30 a.m. at Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2999 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222. Interment will follow the memorial at 1:15 p.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
