Delores Jean Bashore was born to Clem Bashore and Opal Ann McDonald Bashore on Oct 29, 1934 in rural Page County, Iowa. She attended Hardee country school and Braddyville High School, graduating in 1953. After high school, Delores attended Nebraska Methodist Nursing School in Omaha for one year and Clarinda Junior College for two years, obtaining a teaching certificate.
In 1957, Delores relocated to Denver, Colorado where she met Jim Cook, her future husband. They were married May 15, 1959. Delores was employed for many years in various offices in Denver. Jim passed away June 24, 2013. In addition to her parents and in-laws, Delores was also preceded in death by an infant brother Donald and sister-in-law Barbara Blair.
Survivors include her sister, Lavonne Mohler of Shenandoah, Iowa and two nieces Robin Casey of Farragut, Iowa and Rhonda Weir of Clarinda, Iowa, grand nephews Nathan Casey, Ryan Casey, Matt Marriott and Tanner Marriott and their children, also several cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231
