1930's - The early years can best be described in the words of my cousin Lester Arguelles, as he ponders my father's passing and remembers his father's (Jose my dad's brother) passing two years ago...
"They rode waves of tragedy, hardship, luck and love with such style and grace. They both carried with them a certain grit, a certain toughness, about trying to be good in a world of seeming randomness."

Hobbies and Recreation -
Dad had a love of the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, target shooting were his past times. He must have read every Louis L'Amour novel he could get his hands on. And he probably never missed an episode of Gunsmoke either. He could fix anything around the house and did his best to help Mom. While we were little I remember him playing with us A LOT and helping with homework and "kids stuff". Once my borther and I became teenagers he took up golf. He had quite the driving range set up in the garage. More recently he developed a passion for photography. He especially enjoyed working in photoshop and printing photos to share with family and friends. He has always loved to watch boxing and football. He was happy listening to his Frank Sinatra and Rat Pack Music and spent hours burning CD's for others to enjoy. Travel was always a big part of his life, he was fortunate to visit the Philippines one last time earlier this year. Along with all of his interests and passions he simply enjoyed his family and friends. He loved his gandchildren and continued to laugh and play with them as long as he was able.
The world does seem different without him. And the pain of losing him sometimes is too great to bear. But we find comfort in the fond memories of him and comfort in each other. That is how he wants it to be as he begins a new journey surrounded by peace and love.
