Donald Wayne Vigil was born on August 21, 1950 to Thomas (Tony) Vigil and Frances (Mickey) Vigil in Pueblo, Colorado; he was the middle child and had 6 siblings, Loretta, Bella, Tom, Leonard, John and Ron, who also recently passed. Don grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1968. In his younger years, Don enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping and spending time outdoors.
When Don was 30 years old he moved from Pueblo to Denver where he raised his children in North Denver. Don was a devoted father to his children and an amazing grandfather to his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, having barbeques in the back yard, taking the kids and grandchildren fishing, and going to the State Fair.
Don met his second wife, Sherrie Cox, in Denver in 1994. They met on the city bus. Coincidently, their daughters already knew each other and went to the same school. They dated for a few years and decided to live together as husband and wife, in 1996. Together, they loved enjoying time with their kids and grandkids, and fishing at Taylor Reservoir.
Don recently retired from the street maintenance department for the City and County of Denver where he spent 18 years working. During his retirement, Don spent his time gardening, (pumpkins were his specialty) spoiling his two dogs, Honey and Joey, and spending time with his family.
Don will be greatly missed by his friends and family, his memory will forever remain in the countless lives that he touched.
