

Our dad, Donald L. Oshel, passed away on March 8, 2024 while in hospice care at The Denver Hospice, 8299 E Lowry Blvd, Denver, CO. His death was a result of his continued battle with congestive heart failure. His memory will be forever in our hearts.
Life: Born in Rocky Ford, CO to Harold and Dollie Oshel (Stanley). Siblings: James Oshel, Virginia Oshel, Vivian Stanley, Vernadine Stanley, Vickie Stanley and Don Stanley. Married Gerda Baumgartner January 7, 1958 in Augsburg, Germany.
Survived by Children: Ilse Oshel (Centennial, CO), Steve ( Liz) Oshel (Crawfordsville, IN), Karri (Tony) Lopez (Centennial, CO), Erik Oshel (Aurora, CO), Grandchildren: Kellen Iverson, Aaron Singer, Mariel Oshel, and Dirk Oshel. Siblings: Virginia (Oshel) Clay, Vernadine Stanley, Vickie Stanley and Don Stanley. Many nieces and nephews with special mention of Heidi Glibbery.
Predeceased by Parents: Harold Oshel and Dollie (Oshel) Stanley, Wife: Gerda Oshel, Daughter: Brenda Oshel, Son: Stormy Oshel, Grandson: Ken Iverson, Siblings: Jim Oshel, Vivian Stanley and two son in-laws.
Military service: US Army and US Air Force.
Stationed in Augsburg Germany, Maryland, and Colorado.
Loved to read, practice judo, hunting, fishing, camping, the great outdoors with his favorite being spending time at his “happy place” the bunkhouse in Weston, CO` . He enjoyed gardening and usually grew food and flowers. He loved his family and had a weird sense of humor.

A visitation for Donald will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Ft Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
Reception to follow the graveside service at 3:30PM at New Life Community Church, 17690 E. Iliff Ave., Aurora, CO 80013. Light refreshments in the youth room all are welcome.
