He was born to Raymond Fredrick Ellerbrock (Ray) and Frances Jane
(Burgel) Ellerbrock (Jane) on March 3, 1939, in Ohio. Ed attended school in Fort Collins, Colorado prior to moving to Denver where he met his wife Jo Ann (Jackson) Ellerbrock. They lived most of their lives in Denver, raising family. He was an accomplished Traffic Engineer for the city of Denver, retiring in 1998. Ed and Jo Ann lived nine years in the Georgetown, Texas Sun City retirement community from 2006 to 2015, with Ed remaining three more years before returning to Denver in 2018.

In his twenties, Ed was an exceptional control-line model airplane flyer. He was a lifelong fan of Denver sports teams, especially the Broncos. As his children moved into their teen years, Ed and Jo Ann developed a passion for the boating and RV lifestyle, owning numerous boats and RVs over the years. Early vacations and fond memories began with camping and water-skiing at Jackson Reservoir and Lake McConaughy, but perhaps the greatest fun and memories came from annual trips to Lake Powell. Ed and Jo Ann spent many days and nights in their boat while docked at Pueblo Reservoir, followed by many seasons at Chatfield Reservoir.
Ed was an active handyman, always doing projects. At the family’s homes, he finished basements, decks, covers, landscaping, remodels, and other projects including an in-ground swimming pool greatly enjoyed by his kids and friends. In retirement years, Ed contributed to his retirement community in many ways, including building many award-winning golf-cart floats for Independence Day parades. Above all else, he was a dedicated family man, devoted lovingly to his wife, children, grand-children, and great-grand-children. Ed will be greatly missed by many.
