Passed away September 3, 2012. Born in Ashtabula, Ohio July 26, 1923, Elmer was able to travel the world through his service in the Army. After fulfilling his duty of 24 years to the United States Army, Elmer retired and worked for the United States Post Office. After 15 years with the postal service, Elmer retired and worked as the Colorado State Bowling Secretary. He loved bowling, baseball, and the sharing of many stories of running off to join the circus and the military. He is survived by his beloved wife Lena, of 66 years of marriage. Preceded by the death of his second oldest son Rick, he is also survived by his three sons Tom, Gary, and Keith, his four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held in his honor on September 11, 2012 at the Olinger Mortuary at Hampden, at 2:00 pm.
