

He was born on March 3, 1923 in Durango, Colorado. He was raised in Ignacio Colorado area on the family ranch.
He entered the armed services in June 1941. He was stationed at Schofield barracks in Hawaii at the time of 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor. His remaining tour of duty was served through out the South Pacific Theater. He was proud of his wartime service, earning numerous medals including the Purple Heart and Navy Cross.
Upon his discharge in 1945 he returned to Ignacio where he raised his first family. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
In 1971 he moved to the Erie, Colorado area where he raised his second family. He worked for the University of Colorado Boulder as a heavy equipment operator and, also for the National Center for Atmosphere Research (NCAR) until an injury forced him into retirement.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a true outdoors man. He fished and hunted until his age kept him from enjoying the outdoors.
He loved his family, he was kind generous and always willing to help. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Edna Manzaneras and brother Joseph Carmenoros. Fabian is survived by wife, Alethea and Sister Fannie Baca. Sons, Mateo Carmenoros, Fabian Carmenoros, Michael Carmenoros, Harold Carmenoros, and Randall Litz. Daughters, Veronica Carmenoros, Virginia Rodriguez, Florina Carmenoros, and Gail Carmenoros. He had 24 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be said at 9:30 am followed by funeral services at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 715 Cabrini Dr, Lafayette, CO 80026 on January 8, 2016.
