Floyd "Jim" Andrew Beardsley Jr.

July 6, 1945 – December 3, 2022

Floyd “Jim” Andrew Beardsley, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away at the age of 77 years, on December 3, 2022, surrounded by family members.

Floyd was born July 6, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas to Floyd Andrew Beardsley, Sr. and Rovilla Ruth Hill, and was the second of two children. He married Allison Gail Grahn on February 16, 1996 in Denver, Colorado.

Floyd graduated from high school in Wichita, Kansas and attended college at Wichita State University where he was on the football team as a kicker. He enjoyed both participating in and watching sports. He coached his sons' soccer teams and taught aerobics where he was known as the "drill instructor" because his classes were so difficult. Later in life he received his Bachelor's Degree from Colombia College which was a lifelong dream of his. He had numerous jobs before settling on insurance sales. His ability to relate to his customers, and sell products beneficial to their lives, enabled him to receive numerous awards and many trips to Hawaii for national conventions. He developed his love of Hawaii from these trips, and he and Allison enjoyed many trips to Hawaii over the years.

Floyd loved his country and served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea during his service.

He and Allison dated for 10 years while their children were still at home, marrying when the youngest was ready to graduate from high school. They were happily married for 26 years. In addition to Hawaii trips, they enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, exercising at the gym, taking long walks, and visiting family.

Floyd and Allison were members of Peace with Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed the contemporary music services.

Floyd was preceded in death by his father Floyd Sr., mother Rovilla, and brother Jack. He is survived by his wife Allison, children Jeff, Brad and Shelly (Thomas), step children Ben (Janet), Justin (Megan) and Jonathan, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. Visitation and graveside services will be held on December 15, 2022. He will remain in our hearts forever and will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Beardsley, Brad Beardsley, Ben Lippard, Jonathan Lippard and Justin Lippard.
