Frances "Fran" Magdalena Chism

Frances Magdalena (Lipp) Chism was born in Hays, Kansas to Susan and George Lipp on May 10, 1926. Frances was one of five children: Jane (Waldman) Schmidtbarger, Irene Geotz, Julia Hodge and George Lipp, Jr.. She spent her childhood in Park, Kansas and after graduating High School, she moved to Denver, Colorado to work and attend business classes. Fran loved to danceand it was through dancing that she was to find her future husband. Fran and Billy L. Chism were married at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver, Colorado on March 1, 1952 whilke Bill was home on leave from the Navy. They were blessed with three sons: Jim, Ken (Dede), Rick (Kim), five grandchildren: J.D. Chism (April), Abby Sinnett (Justin), Amber Krivoniak (Dan), Adele, Kayley, and eleven great grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Frances was constant in her devotion to the Lord, to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her Catholic faith. For decades she supported numerous Catholic organizations throughout the United States. A rosary was never far from her hands praying for her family, the Church and the world. After retiring from the Colorado State Patrol as an accounting clerk, Fran and Bill found joy together as they traveled throughout the United States attending ship's reunions for the many ships Bill served on. In her later season, Fran enjoyed home life with Bill and attending Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances will be held Monday, June 5, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Church of The Risen Christ Catholic Parish, 3060 S. Monaco St. Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222. A reception will follow the Mass at Risen Christ Catholic Parish, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222.Private Graverside service at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 38 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80260.

Serving as pallbearers are Jim Chism - Son, Ken Chism - Son, Rick Chism - Son and J.D. Chism - Grandson.
