Gary N. Martin of Parker, CO passed away peacefully at the age of 75 in Parker, CO after several years of medical difficulties. His beloved Judy (Wilkens) and her sister Ruth Harms were by his bedside.
Gary was born November 30, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas to Herbert N. and Wilma Jean (Dixon) Martin. The family settled in beautiful Colorado when Gary was 10 years old where he resided for the remainder of his life.
Gary graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver and later graduated from Metropolitan State University in Denver in 1971. He was drafted into the Army that same year. He was very proud of his military background and honored the American Flag all his life.
Gary was a Civil Engineer throughout his career, along with an entrepreneurial spirit. Airport designing was his specialty and his work encompassed airports in several states. He loved the Colorado mountains for camping, hunting and fishing. He was also quite the tennis and pool player. His favorite pastime was traveling, dining out and watching the Rockies and Broncos and movies with Judy.
Gary was married to Phyllis Winn in 1969 and they welcomed a son, Robert N. Martin into the world in 1970. They later divorced and Gary married Karen Peterson in 1976. Karen passed away in 1988 and Gary then met his beloved Judy (Wilkens) the same year. They were true partners in life for over 34 years. Judy was also his caretaker for the last 7 years of his life.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife Karen, his son Robert in 2019 and his mother Jean.
He is survived and will always be remembered by his beloved Judy of Parker, CO, his father Herbert and wife Joanne of Aurora, CO, his brother Dan and wife Greer Martin of Blackhawk, CO, nephews, cousins, great neighbors and Judy's family whom he cared for dearly.
Gary will be honored with a Celebration of Life Service in his and Judy's home on October 15, 2022. Memorials will be presented to the Denver Rescue Mission and the Vietnam Veterans in Gary's memory.
