George Ruben passed away on August 11, 2018. He was 80 years old. George was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Michael and Sophia (Khoury) Ruben. With his parents and his brother, Elias, he came to the United States in August 1947. He was raised in Donora, Pa. by his uncle and aunt, Abe and Ethel Ruben. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in December of 1961. He attended Donora High School through the 11th grade and graduated from high school in Eugene, Or. in 1958. He obtained his associates degree from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, Nc. and his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque) in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army and received his basic training in Fort Polk, La. He worked for U.S. Steel in Pittsburg and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was outgoing, and every Tuesday would drive to Brush, Colorado to visit with friends. George is survived by his brother; Elias (Betty) Ruben, his 1st cousins; Abe (Lynn) Ruben, Mariam Cashner and Martha (Richard) Lumley, his care takers and friends; Wade and Tamalyn, his friends in Brush, and many other extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his aunt, his uncle, and his 1st cousin; Reverend John F. Ruben.
George wished his services to be carried out in a simple and private manner.
