Gerald Geneo Williams died, age 71, October 10, 2020 at Swedish Memorial Hospital. Born October 27, 1948 in the city of Denver to John and Mary Williams, he grew up with five other siblings, a father that worked and a mother that stayed in the home raising her six children.

Geneo attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in 1967. He enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam one year from 1968 to 1969. After his enlistment ended he worked in aviation jobs and earned a federal retirement and military retirement from the Colorado National Guard.

Geneo met his wife, Jo Dee, at a church he was attending in 1993. They were married before the Justice of the Peace at the Denver County Building in September of 1993 and were married again in a wedding ceremony in Washington State in October 1993. They had to make sure it would stick.

Geneo loved sightseeing and visiting places in Colorado and later enjoyed travels in Europe as well. At home, Geneo was particular about caring for his yard, trees, shrubs and flower garden and enjoyed showing others the results of his efforts. He recently had a new deck built that he was crazy about. Geneo loved the Lord and was so happy when he traveled to Israel and was baptized in the Jordan River.

I worked with Geneo at the Army Aviation Support Facility and served with him in the National Guard for many years. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, as I considered him a good friend. We shared many stories over the years about the various things we collected and had a great time working together. Retirement separated us, but I will always remember him as a very fine person.

Geneo will not be forgotten. He was such a tease about so many things. He was so full of mischief, but I know he loved the Lord. Thank you for all the memories, Geneo. Praying the Lord's peace for JoDee as she gets things together for the memorial. Hugs, JoDee!
