Thompson; children, Dawn (Scott Greiner) and Rich (Shelley); grandchildren, Justin, Taylor and Jaden; brother, Gilbert "Gil" (Maxine) Roy; sisters, Annette (Carl), Gerry, and Karen (Eldon).
Germaine was described as being an innocent and all loving person. She was born in Stockton, Kansas on August 31st to Edmond and Alma Roy. When Germaine was 12 years old her mother passed away on Christmas Day. 13 months later her father passed away. Being young she had to go live with her siblings until her grandparents took over her care. When she graduated from high school she had 1 day to be out of the house. She took that opportunity to get on a bus and travel to Denver, Colorado to be with good friends. She met Ron Thompson while he was stationed in Denver with the Air Force and they married. Germaine and Ron were married for 59 years. It was a marriage made in heaven.
Germaine was an excellent homemaker. She could sew anything and could cook anything. She kept a clean house, a beautiful garden and kept herself classy and well dressed. Her family relied on her for most anything and she was happy to appease them. If there was a sick grandchild, a backpack left at home or someone needed one of her famous carrot or banana cakes, she was there. She was devoted to her church, being a member of the Alter and Rosary Society of St. Therese Catholic Church in Aurora, Colorado.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2nd from 9:30am - 10am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am both at St. Therese Catholic Church in Aurora. Germaine will be laid to rest at Olinger Hampden Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, Denver, CO.
