Gilbert Roland Valdez Jr.

Gilbert Roland Valdez Jr., 63 of Denver, passed away on July 25,2017 in Denver, CO after a long stay at Jewell Care Center. He was born in Denver, CO to Gilbert R. Valdez Sr. and Aggie S. Valdez who have preceded him in death, as well as his brother Gerald Valdez. Roland lived most of his life in South Gate, CA and spent the last 22 years here in Denver. He previously worked for General Motors and as a welder. He was an avid Chess and Pool player. He leaves behind six children, Vanessa R. Valdez, Jacob A. Valdez, Thomas D. Valdez, Felicia F. Beard (Valdez) USA SPC, Nicholas Roland Valdez Jr, Kristina M. Valdez; six grandchildren; brother Vincent A. Valdez; sister, Valerie D. Diaz (Valdez); nephew, Robert A. Pavon; and his beloved cat Peppers.

We would like to thank nurses at Jewell Care Center for their care of Roland and Suncrest Hospice. Special thanks to Jordana, Kenny and Laura for their love, patience, wonderful care, and time that they contributed in caring for brother, these last two months most of all.

Arrangements pending with private burial at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his brother Gerald Valdez.
