Mom didn’t have a whole lot of formal education but she can make tough decision like a CEO. After middle school, she had to started working to help out family. She was helping my grandfather to do farm work since he was not in good health. Mom and Dad were married for 58 years. They didn’t meet each other until the day they got married. A year after their marriage, Dad went to Hong Kong to seek work and better life. Mom stayed behind with my sister Amy. They were apart for 8 years until Mom reunited with Dad in Hong Kong. Wing, Teresa, and I were born in Hong Kong.

Being a new immigrant, it was hard to find work and our family didn’t have any money. Mom, Dad, Amy, and Wing were staying in a small room no larger than 10 X 10 feet. When Dad was hired by the government, our lives had been improved. In order to provide better education for all of us, mom had to work full time on top of being a housewife. Mom is always hard on us but fair. Mom taught us caring. She always said people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care about them. Mom taught us being discipline in our life journey. Mom taught us empathy. She always said you cannot help people if you don’t care for them first. Mom taught us being humble. She always said you receive more if you understand how to be humble. Mom, we couldn’t be who we are without your caring and love.

Mom, we love you forever and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
