Love, Praise, Mom
Surrounded by friends and family, Jary J Dailey died at her home in Aurora, Colorado on July 19, 2024 after battling cancer and kidney failure. She was 86 years old.
Jary and her twin sister, Mary, were born in Cope, Colorado to Marvin Hassig and Margaret Scofield Hassig on November 9th, 1937. The family eventually moved to Denver, where Jary graduated from South High School. She went on to earn a nursing degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. During orientation week, she met her future husband, John Logan Dailey. They married in 1960 while John was serving for the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. After a brief period in Long Beach, California, and when John completed his naval duty, they moved to Colorado.
Jary and John moved into a house in a new development in southeast Denver — Hampden Heights — where they lived for over 50 years, including several years with three generations under their roof. In 2020, Jary moved to the Heather Gardens community in Aurora.
Jary and John were long-time members of Corona Presbyterian Church and, later Jary joined the congregation of BridgeWay Church, where she was active in several ministries. As a committed Christ follower Jary served many in ways big and small, including opening her home up to those in her extended family who needed the calm and serenity she offered so effortlessly. She made everyone she knew feel extravagantly loved.
After more than 50 years of marriage, John died in 2011. Jary is survived by her sister, Mary Maureen Eldridge currently in Grand Junction; and daughters Erin Dailey Dern, Naperville, Illinois; Kelly Dailey Gabriel, Le Thor, France; Jill Dailey, San Anselmo, California; son-in-law John Dern; son-in-law John Gabriel; eight beautiful grandchildren (Ryan & Sarah, Jeremy, Graham &Annalie, Nicolette, Julius & Damian) grand-son-in-law Thibault and one extraordinary great-grandchild; Evan.
We could not begin to thank all the people that showed up for our mom throughout her life, she was truly loved. Yet in the last few weeks, as her health declined, and we could not personally be there as we would have liked, we have huge gratitude for her neighbor Sarah and her adopted daughters Becca, Nallely, Kat and Debi for the peace they gave us knowing she was advocated for, watched over and comforted. She was a mom to so many, and we want to say thanks to our other spiritual “siblings” Akira, Donna, CJ, Tim & Brenda, Remi & Sara, and Gary.
A larger Celebration of Life service will be held this fall, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to BridgeWay Church, Gem 58/Every Child or the Denver Botanic Gardens.
«So I kneel humbly in awe before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth.
And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.
Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!»
