John was a friend a  fellow Deacon and Christian Brother . We  are going to miss our brother. Our prayers are with the family.

Edna and I always admired John as a brother and brother-in law.  He was loved for his wisdom, commitment to family and his warm personality. He was a man of faith  who lived his life consistent with biblical principles. Gladys and Corey, our prayers are with you.  May your fond memories of John, serve as inspiration to you as time goes by.

There are so many things I could say about John that I could write a book. John was a man of strength when I had none. He was a man of positive outlook, when I had none. His smile and laughter were infectious. His strong character was impressive. His heart was enormous. I was able to benefit from it all and was lucky enough to be called his friend. It may not have been evident during the last 6 months but he was on my mind frequently. I will miss you my friend…..I already do.  Just know you were loved and respected and a part of my heart. 

My best memories are of Joffrion coming to see me in the hospital. We could not find out what was wrong with me. Of all the people I knew, the Pastor and Deacon Joffrion came to look at me and shake their heads. (This was when Joffrion was still rather shy) Well, that cemented our friendship. 
   As I grew up, we hung out at church a lot- when we weren't arguing. He treated me like I was another daughter, bossing me around. We worked with the male chorus. Bro. Joffrion loved to sing. He couldn't keep the beat if he was excited,  but that baritone would definitely be heard.
  He was there to help my husband cut trees. My husband loves him like a blood uncle and he eventually went over to cut some vegetation for the Joffrions...
   When I went to say my goodbyes, he was not strong enough for conversation. He did, however, muster up enough strength to recognize my mother and me. Later, he sat partially up and said, "You gonna sing a song for me", and laid back down.
I asked what song. I already knew. 
"You want 'Sweet Hour of Prayer'. "
He smiled.

To the family of my fellow Deacon, Friend and Brother in Christ, Deacon John W. Joffrion. I am truly grateful for his teaching of the Gospel, comforting the sick and praying for the lost. His work shall not be in vain. The work he has done and the life he has lived shall truly speak for him in Glory.

To the family of my dear friend and fellow Deacon John W.Joffrion what a beautiful person I thank God for knowing him I'm praying for you he will be missed from all of us at Citywide Brotherhood. President Deacon Kirwin L Childs Be Blessed

Deacon Joffrion,
A transformed body you now have...
Oh to imagine pearly gates...
To be in the presence of Royalty...
Good riddance sickness - goodbye earthly wait...
His Lord said unto him, Well done thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.
