On Saturday, April 10, 2021, Joshua Haileyesus, loving son and eldest sibling to three brothers, passed away at age 12 at Children’s Hospital, Aurora.

Joshua was born on May 15, 2008 in Aurora, CO to Haileyesus Zeryihun and Fasika Aemro. Joshua had a passion for soccer, acting, photography, and cooking. I’ve never met Joshua nor do I know his family. I’m 12 years old just like him and only found out about him when my mom told me the tragic story. A lot had been going on and I’d been praying to God for a Christian friend who I could talk to about Jesus. After hearing about Joshua and how selfless he was, I knew that was a trait I wanted in a friend. I admired the goals he had and was devastated when I found out about his condition. All of the people in our church and bible study have been praying for him and his family non stop. It breaks my heart that someone so similar to me - a Christian, 12 year old, Ethiopian boy has passed on. My condolences to his family and peace be with you.

My favorite memory of josh was when we would play soccer and when we had amazing passes and goals and he was always there at practice.

Hello, my name is Kennedy Bell and I had gone to school with the twins all throughout elementary. I didn’t really know them personally but I know they were really good kids. They were always helping kids and always put others before themselves. The world just lost a pretty good kid. I also know that they were both every teachers favorite kid.
