April 20, 1933March 17, 2011

Gertrude (Judy) Elaine Boland was born on April 20th 1933 in Leicester, Vermont and died on March 17, 2011 in Denver Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laverna and Edward Trombley, her sisters, Rita, Phyllis and Mary, and her brothers, Edson and Perley, husbands, Howard Wetmore and Ralph Lile. Judy is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Boland, her children Chris Lile, Sue Avila, Jim Lile and Dan Lile, her step-children, Cathy Herrman, Ruth Boland, Greg Boland and Anita Boland, her grandchildren, Tim Lile, Alyssa Lile, Jennifer Avila, Phoebe Lile, Renee Lile, Tegan Boland and Deveney Boland and great-grandsons, Ezekiel and Ambrose. Judy received a degree in teaching in the early 1970’s and was a dedicated elmentary school teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools for many years. She was a teacher at heart extending her skills beyond her profession. Her professional teaching career ended in 1983 when she had a stroke which was very debilitating, but which did not slow her down. After the first stroke, Judy coached and then managed the Free Birds softball team consisting of disabled children. It gave her great joy to see them play. She overcame many physical obstacles after having three more strokes throughout her life. Always on the go and up for most anything, even after the strokes, she learned how to scuba dive, snorkel, square dance, sail, and travelled to many foreign countries with her husband, Bill. Judy was an eager and vivacious participant in all the activities presented to her despite physical disability. Her life is an inspiration to us all. She modeled integrity and inspired her children by her loving, honest behavior. Most important, Judy was a humble Christian woman whose faith in Christ kept her strong to the end.

It was always exciting to see Judy at the family gatherings. Always a gracious, kind and fun lady. I always looked forward to talking with her and I always came away with something more. She's going to be greatly missed, but she's dancing in Heaven now and we'll cherish our memories of this most wonderfully inspiring lady. :-) Kim and Red
