Kim Phok was born May 10, 1959 and passed away April 24, 2020. She survived the repressive Khmer Rouge regime, immigrating as a refugee to the US on August 21, 1981 with her husband, Chhay Seng, mother, Pal Prom, and infant son, Chhom Seng. She gave birth to her second son, Frederic Eli Seng, after settling in her adopted country. She spoke little English but together with her husband, bought their first house in Colorado, less than 10 years after arriving in the US.
She always welcomed those who needed help; it did not matter if they were relatives or friends. Every member of her extended family has lived in her home at one point until they were able to stand on their own. She made friends everywhere she went. She was a hard worker and was never able to sit still. She often sought out gifts and food for her loved ones. Her legacy of kindness and generosity is an example for the world.
She is survived by husband of 44 years, 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, and a large extended family.
