Leroy was born December 30, 1936 in Victoria Kansas. He moved to Colorado with his parents in 1946. He entered the U.S. Navy in December of 1954. He was discharged from the Naval Reserve in 1962. He was married August 24th 1957 to the love of his life Sue Chism. They have 3 children, Brenda, Darren and Andy. Leroy and Sue have 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Leroy went to work at Buckley Air National Guard base in December 1970 for transit maintenance. He was a member of the Air National Guard from 1971 to 1980 after which he joined the Army National Guard from 1982 to 1992. He was a proud member of all our armed forces except the marines. He went to work for DET 3 Space Division in August 1978 until April 2005. He has given his country over 36 years of his life.
