Mary Johanna Fitzgerald Doering was born in Marion County, Indiana, the daughter of Beatrice and Virgil Fitzgerald. She was married to Frederick H. Doering on June 6th, 1944, as he was heading off to World War II. Mary was unable to finish her last year of High School as the children started coming and after the War, she and Fred moved to Colorado. She received her G.E.D. Certificate from Emily Griffith Opportunity School on November 19, 1973. After that, and while raising seven children, she spent a year or two at what was then called CU Extension studying Child Psychology and Early Education. She also took business classes. She later worked at the Denver Finance Center, Air Force and then moved on to banking, then known as First Interstate Bank. She is survived by one brother Walter (Judy) Fitzgerald. Mary is survived by seven children, Robert (Phyllis), Steve (Wendy), Susan (Robin), Larry, (Sam), Louise (Larry), Jeannette, (Dave), and Carole (Ed). Mary has eight grandchildren, Holly, Heather, Gina, Christine, Forrest, Ryan, Taylor, and Logan, seven great grandchildren, Evelyn, Chase, Gregory, Lindsey, Eston, Emily and Mary, and one great-great grandchild, Maverick. She enjoyed her family and family picnics, barbeques, outings, the mountains, watching stars and the moon at night, the Rockies and the Broncos and traveling anywhere, especially to Hawaii and Alaska, listening to her music and later, visiting with friends during her workouts in the warm therapeutic pool. She was greatly loved by all and will be sorely missed; however, she would want us all to be happy for her as she is finally out of pain and in Heaven with the good LORD and her beloved husband, Fred.
