Michael Alan Plymale, 42, of Aurora, Colorado (formerly of Huntington, WV) went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the University of Colorado Hospital. Michael was born on October 31, 1976 in Huntington, West Virginia. He is the son of Lyle F. “Rick” Plymale II and Susan Elaine Edris Plymale. Michael was the husband of Catherine Ruth Plymale whom he loved and adored. Michael was preceded in death by grandparents Lyle F. Plymale, Edith Jones Plymale, and Ruth Lillian Edris, his Aunt Karen Plymale Knowles and Uncle Mickey Ray Knowles.
Michael is survived by the love of his life Catherine Ruth Plymale, parents Rick and Susan Plymale, his brother Mark Daniel Plymale and his wife Tessia Hughes Plymale, and their daughter Hannah. Michael is also survived by his loving father-in-law, John Woodward, and loving mother-in-law, Lynda Woodward, and his “adopted” grandmother Billie Chandler.
Other surviving family members include cousins Kevin Knowles, Brian Knowles, Keirsten Edris, Megan Webb, Hillary Pfeffer, Lauren Sanchez, Bre Harrison, Dr. Michael Stephens, Dr. Sherry Stephens, Bruce Terry, Eleanor Terry, Jan Terry, Sherry Apostolon, and Donna Brown.
Michael was a 1995 graduate of Vinson High School and a 1998 graduate of Marshall University. He was a proud member of the Vinson High School Marching Band and the Marshall University Marching Thunder.
Michael was a devout follower of Christ and a faithful member of Colorado Community Church in Aurora, Colorado. He was a trusted employee of Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores for over 20 years. Michael loved sports, especially his favorite teams of the Colorado Rockies and Marshall Thundering Herd.
To his family and friends, Michael’s Christian faith, kind and caring heart, gentle smile and love for others will be greatly missed. He truly took to heart the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:37: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
