Mona Anna Martinez-Brosh was born on May 15, 1962 and passed away on August 15, 2019 after an extended illness. She is survived by her husband Michael Brosh; daughter Amy (Brosh) Paschke and her husband Matt and children Rome and Micah; daughter Laura Brosh; mother Genevieve Saenz; sister Juliet (Martinez) Currington and her children Kayla Newton, her boyfriend Michael Green and daughter Kacee; Christian Currington, his girlfriend Kenzie Johnson and their daughter Leonna, and Cameron Currington; sister Dorothy (Saenz) Mineweaser and her husband Brian and their children Breanna, Brittany, Ethan and Brooklyn; brother Carlos Saenz and his fiancée Markie Maestes. She is also survived by her husband Mike’s parents Janet and Larry Brosh, Mike’s brother David Brosh, his wife Mardee and their children Caitlin (Bullock) Christensen and her husband Justin, Nate Bullock, Rachel Brosh Wells and her husband Brad and daughter Petra.
Mona attended school in Fowler, Colorado, and graduated from Fowler High School in 1981. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and graduated with a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics in 1985.
Mona worked in School Nutrition for many years, first interning at Cherry Creek Schools and then serving as a program consultant for the Colorado Department of Education’s Office of School Nutrition. Over the course of her career, Mona fed many students as the Director of Nutrition Services at Brighton, Greeley and Aurora school districts. She also served as president of the Colorado School Nutrition Association. She spearheaded programs to advance the cooperation between school districts and local farms, to introduce innovative programs to use local produce in school lunches.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, shopping, movies, and spending time with her large close family. She loved musicals and Harry Potter and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Her family swears that the Broncos could hear her at Mile High Stadium when she was rooting for them at home. She loved watching her nephews play sports and her nieces dance and perform in musical events. If they had a game or performance you can count on Mona being there front row and cheering loudly.
