Noemi Azenet Cuevas Jimenez (Mimi), age 98, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Noemi was born May 22, 1923 and dedicated her life serving the Lord as a teacher, librarian and missionary around the world. She was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Soledad Ayala Cuevas and Abdon Cuevas. Noemi is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manuel Jimenez of Midland, Texas, her brothers Ruben Cuevas of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ephraim Cuevas of Aurora, Colorado, and her sister Marta Solis Benavides of San Antonio, Texas. Noemi is survived by her sister Mary Mara Tovar, 93, of Fremont, California, her sister-in-law Aurora Cuevas, 90, of Aurora, CO, five step-children, and several nieces and nephews and their families. She served as a librarian and teacher for the Baptist Mission Board most of her life and well into her 80’s in several countries including Japan, Taiwan, Gambia, Khazakstan, India, American Samoa, Mexico, Peru, and Thailand. Mimi’s family and friends will miss her warm smile, her easy laugh, and her bold adventurous spirit. A memorial service for Noemi will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231. A reception will follow at 1459 S Moline St, Aurora, CO 80012.
