

Owens Earl McCullough (Earl), age 89, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at Swedish Medical Center in Colorado following a brief illness. Born in Pennsylvania, Earl was the beloved son of Luella McKley and Owens A. McCullough. He grew up in Apollo, where he graduated from Apollo High School in 1954 and was recognized as an outstanding football player.
Earl began his working life at his brother-in-law’s service station before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army, including time stationed in Korea during the post-war period. After his military service, Earl moved to Colorado where he built a successful career as an equipment salesman and manager for M.L. Foss. He later concluded his professional journey in the hardware business as a manager, earning respect for his dedication and leadership.
Earl met Nancy LaRoche, who became his life partner for nearly 40 years. Together, they shared countless memories and a deep bond that enriched their lives.
A man of many passions, Earl enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, boating, and tackling projects around the house. He had a deep love for animals and cared for his dogs over the years, including Maggie, Barney, and Sampson.
Earl is pre-deceased by his sister Nancy Shafer and survived by his sisters, Dorthy Pearlman and Mary Alice Prebish, who shared in his life’s journey. Earl is also survived by his significant other, Nancy LaRoche; his son, Owens McCullough and wife Ann and their children Matthew, Sarah and Haley of Gorham Maine; and son Steven McCullough and his wife Vicki; and their children, Ian, and Alexis of Henderson Nevada.
Earl will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, gentleness, his devotion to family, and his unwavering work ethic. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, and the memories shared by those who loved him.
A graveside memorial service will be held for immediate family members at a future date.
