Peter John Roll, age 66, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Denver Hospice from ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease). His passing was peaceful, and he was surrounded by his loving wife Michelle always at his side.
He was born March 16, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Jenny Provenzano Roll and Arthur Roll. Pete was proud to be a first generation Italian-American.
He was raised in Detroit, with his siblings Joseph Roll, Mary Roll, Janet Benson and Rose Shagena. His siblings still remain in Detroit. He moved to Grand Junction, Colorado after graduating from Eastern Michigan University. Pete lived in Montrose, Colorado for several years, before moving to Denver, Colorado. In 1997 Pete met Michelle, they fell in love and were married. They have lived in Park Hill for 18 years.
Pete’s love for tennis started in high school. He became an excellent tennis player, reaching 4.5 level during he his best years. He played many years with his USTA team of long-time friends. Pete was an outdoors man. Enjoying hiking, camping, river trips, safaris, skiing, and snowshoeing now-a-days. Pete was always travelling. He enjoyed adventures on his own, with Michelle and fun trips with friends. He travelled around the world on many journeys, but equally enjoyed exploring Colorado and favorite spots in the Rocky Mountains.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2PM. At the Unity Spiritual Center 4670 E. 17th Ave Pkwy, Denver, CO 80220. With a nearby outdoor gathering immediately to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the ALS Association Rocky Mountain Chapter who helped Pete and Michelle in so many ways. Or to the Mile High Area Colorado Region American Red Cross where Pete had volunteered for many years.
