98, of Centennial, passed away on January 20, 2017. Richard was born in LaGrange Park, Illinois to Fay Orville and Isabelle Cherry on October 15, 1918. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth "Betty"; and his son, Richard D. Cherry, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Patrick, Diane and Dennis (Teresa); 4 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.
Richard graduated from Lyons Township High School. He fought in WWII with the US Navy and was stationed in Guam. He moved to Denver in 1987. Richard loved to read, watch sports and travel.
A service will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Denver, later.
