

Richard was born on February 7th, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Guadalupe Tinoco and Raymond Martinez. He grew up in a large family with 10 siblings. While growing up in Phoenix he attended Catholic School and Phoenix Community College.
Richard was married to Gail Beringer in November of 1974 in Washington DC. Richard and Gail had 5 children.
He enlisted in the US Army in 1972. He retired in 1996 as a First Sergeant. During his service he lived in Washington DC, Tacoma Washington, Landstuhl Germany, Ft. Campbell Kentucky, and Aurora Colorado. After military retirement, he continued to reside in Aurora CO and worked at UPS and Royal and Century Insurance Companies.
Richard’s hobbies included being an avid Colorado Rockies baseball supporter and fan. From Spring Training trips to Phoenix, until the last game of the year. He also enjoyed his freshwater fish aquariums, pet cats and dogs.
Richard is survived by Gail Martinez, Noelia and (Brad Clingman), Sonia Martinez, and Richard Martinez Jr. Richard is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings Delores Enriquez of OKC, Anita Smith of OKC, Tula Skepnek of Mesa AZ, Mary Guerra of Phoenix AZ, and Joseph Guerra of Phoenix AZ.
Richard is preceded by parents Guadalupe Tinoco and Raymond Martinez, and five siblings. His children who preceded him in death are John Paul Martinez and Felicia Martinez.
Visitation will be held at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231, US, on July 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with livestream available at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/c26074054960735.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 19099 E Floyd Ave, Aurora, CO 80013, US, on July 16, 2026, at 10:30 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area WHITE, 3698 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80236, on July 16, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
