Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

Sometimes it feels like this world's gone crazy

And Grandpa, take me back to yesterday

When the line between right and wrong

Didn't seem so hazy

Did lovers really fall in love to stay

And stand beside each other, come what may?

Was a promise really something people kept

Not just something they would say and then forget

Did families really bow their heads to pray

Did daddies really never go away?

Oh, Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

Rest In Peace Gramps.

My hero, my friend, my confidant, my Grandpa, I’ll always be thankful for the 28 years I enjoyed with you. Traveling from state to state. I’ll never be able to smell the smell of chlorine from a pool without thinking of you. You taught me how to swim, how to drive, you taught me morals. You understood me in a way few people ever will. I’m so thankful for the time we had together & we always made sure to let each other know how much we loved & appreciate one another. I’m so proud of the man you were. You will be genuinely missed. I love you Gramps. Zach

Our hearts go out to the whole Wallen family. You have been the best neighbors anyone could ask for. We will miss Bob driving little Autumn around on the tractor and having her drag him all over the yard on their adventures. We know Handsome will miss his daily treats and we will miss our chats over the fence solving the problems of the world.

Marge, you know we are only a minute away and will be there for you anytime.

Message From (Great Grandpa) Bob Wallen
known as BOP For Sunlight of his Life
Great Granddaughter Autumn Rose Keys

Don’t think of me as gone away for my journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets this earth is only one.

Just think of me as resting from the pain, sorrows and tears in
a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years

I will always remember that special smile of yours, that caring heart,
that warm embrace, you always gave me.

You being there for GG [Great Grandma] and me sharing laughter and fun , Oh the adventures we had.

Remember when we spoke about the beautiful heart string, that will forever link your heart to mine. Please don’t be sad as I will always
be with you.

I’ll always remember you Granddaughter because there’ll never be another one to replace you in my heart, the love we shared for the short time we had together, [3.5 years] will be forever. I will be with you always.
Love your Great Grandpa (Bop) Robert M Wallen

Your Spirit – A Tribute to My Father from his Daughter Pamela

Your Spirit – A Tribute to My Father By Tram-Tiara T. Von Reichenbach

I know that no matter what
You will always be with me.
When life separates us
I’ll know it is only your soul
Saying goodbye to your body
But your spirit will be with me always.
When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch
I will know it is you singing to me.

When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely
I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain.
When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention

I will know it is you reminding me
To appreciate the simple things in life.

When the sun shining through my window awakens me
I will feel the warmth of your love.

When I hear the rain pitter patter against my window sill
I will hear your words of wisdom
And will remember what you taught me so well
That without rain trees cannot grow
Without rain flowers cannot bloom
Without life’s challenges I cannot grow strong.

When I look out to the sea
I will think of your endless love for your family.

When I think of mountains, their majesty and magnificence
I will think of your courage for your country.
No matter where I am
Your spirit will be beside me
For I know that no matter what
You will always be with me

From Wife of 63 years [Marjorie Wallen] to my wonderful Husband Bob

To My Beloved by Celia Wenig

You had a talent for bringing special meaning to life,
It was such a pleasure to be your wife.
You helped me to grow and to realize
The fullness and the beauty in our lives.

Every day I counted my blessings.
Then God called, and you went away
Out of this world to a brighter day.
Suddenly my life of gladness
Turned to utter sadness.

My grief wears me down, I shed so many tears,
As I recall your love and devotion through the years.
For your sake and in memory of your name,
I pray for strength to do things the same.

To reach out, to fill the hours with useful ways,
To comfort, to cheer and have no more empty days.
I try to console myself -- it was God's greater plan,
So I must accept it, if I can.

You moved away to His splendid home above,
If there is life after death,
I know you will be waiting there for me,
With love.

Though Heaven and Earth divide us, and the distance is so great,
I count my blessings for the years you were my mate.
I will live my life remembering, while you wait, slumbering.
My beloved, may you rest in peace.

From Youngest Son- [Pat Wallen] a Poem that reminds me of my Dad
If We Could Bring You Back Again By Joanna Fuchs

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.

If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.

Love you Dad Always & Forever
Pat

A POEM FOR MY DAD June 4th2018 From Robert V. Wallen
Dad,
It’s never the right time to say good bye. I will miss you Dad and here is why. You taught me so much. To show no fear, to always have fun and
face the day with cheer. You never looked for praises and you
were never one to boost.

You were always there for those you loved the most. Those strong working hand led us through life and helped me understand that life can be hard, tough and sad but through it all I had my Dad.

Because of you I understood that life was actually pretty good. I believe in you and I will follow your path and when things go wrong, I’ll look
back and laugh. I hope you can hear me so I can let you know
that you were and will forever be my hero. I am full of sorrow, but I will smile a little more with each tomorrow so please Dad go be at rest and know to me you were always the best.

THOSE WE LOVE:
Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
so loved, so missed, so very dear.

REMEMBER ME:
Don’t remember me with sadness,
Don’t remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter,
We’ve shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don’t be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight,
Remember that I’m with you
Each morning, noon and night.

Margie you have been that close cousin to me and our family have always shared so many wonderful times together. Bob was always a very special man who made his family so very complete with laughter and so much love. We raised our children together from toddlers to young ladies and men. And yes we laughed and remiss about all the hair raising days. But we enjoyed all the many great times we all had together and the stories will always be part of our memories forever. My heart felt love to you Margie, Bobby, Patrick and Pam. With LOVE forever, Virginia

My deepest sympathies to the Wallen family, especially your mother Marjorie! Your husband and farther will always have a special space in our life stories. We lost my friend, a son, husband, father and marine who has made a difference with all of us.

Your Daddy has been a very special man for so many. We feel so blessed to have shared a part of his light. I always appreciated the way your Dad made people feel special. I will never forget his wonderful smile and his talent for telling a good story. This great sense of humor shown in his eyes and they lit up with his warm wonderful heart! I never eat baked beans, played bad mitten, think about the mountain picnics or talk about Oklahoma without thinking about your father. You all have always been his pride and treasures, his sparkle lives on in you all, Zack and Audy.
