Ruth B. Thrane, 96, of Aurora, Colorado died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 peacefully in her home after a brief illness. Ruth was the widow of George Thrane, who died in 1999 and the youngest of seven children from the Leonard and Caroline Barrett family of Estherville, Iowa, all deceased. Her survivors include her two stepdaughters, Nancy Thrane-Breshears (Norman) of Half Moon Bay, California and Debra Dezellem of Bridgeport, Washington; one step-granddaughter Caitlin Starek of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and many adoring nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews from across the country.
Ruth lived in Colorado for over 65 years and had many friends with whom she loved playing golf and bridge and reading a good book. She retired from Argo Oil and the Johnson Foundation as an administrative assistant.
It was Ruth’s wish to be cremated with no funeral services. Her ashes will be scattered in the same location as her husband George. For those who would like to commemorate her life, donations can be made to The Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
