Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Jane, her husband, Lenny Dale, and her son Mitch. She is survived by her brother Gary Bailey (Keri), sister Diane Voegely (Bob), sons Troy (Bette) and Lenny Dean (Shawn), and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Sharon, affectionately known as GiGi by her children and grandchildren, was deeply connected to her community and cherished her friends in Grand Junction. She seized every opportunity to engage in activities she loved, such as playing cards, relishing good food, and sharing precious moments with her dear friends.
Sharon was witty, fun, and had a great sense of humor. A testament to her is the number of friends who enjoyed her company and got to know her. She grew up in Missouri, then Denver, and eventually moved to Grand Junction, where she always felt at home. She loved time spent on Grand Mesa fishing, camping, and gathering around family. She always looked at putting the worm on the hook as one of the fun parts of fishing. We are still trying to figure out why?! Later in life, she had hobbies, such as creating designer Christmas trees for friends and family and spending time on her computer shopping on Amazon. I mean, who doesn’t like that? She raised three boys, created a loving home, and was a great friend, mother, sister, daughter, and wife. She will be missed dearly.
A celebration of life will take place on her 80th birthday in August. Notices will be sent out in the coming weeks.
